This policy explains what information is collected when you use lastnamegenerators.com (the "Site"), how it is used, and the choices you have. In short: the Site has no accounts, the generator runs in your browser, and third-party advertising partners such as Google may use cookies to show ads.
Information you give us
You do not need an account to use the Site, and the generator does not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message, and we use it only to reply to you.
Names you generate and save
Names are generated inside your browser. The filters you set and the names you generate are not sent to us. When you press Save, the name is stored in your browser's local storage on your device so you can find it again later. We cannot see this list. Your choice of light or dark mode is stored the same way. Clearing your browser's site data deletes both.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the Site is delivered by a hosting provider and content delivery network. To deliver pages and protect the Site from abuse, the provider processes standard request information such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are kept for a short period for security and are not used to identify you.
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the Site, for example which pages are visited most. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the site that referred you, your approximate location and your device and browser type. We see this information only as aggregated reports and use it to improve the Site. The names you type or generate are not sent to Google Analytics.
